sad manYou have the right to choose who you marry and when. Being forced to marry, whether it’s through physical or emotional pressure, is abuse. If you’re worried this is going to happen to you, there is help available.

You’re probably scared of angering your family and feel trapped. But you’re not alone and can get out of this. You are not wrong for making the brave decision to escape forced marriage. Everyone has the right to live in safety and make their own decisions.

Local and international resources are available, including free and confidential support. Resources include health, housing, counselling, legal and financial help.
